Both teams have had great seasons in J1 and J2 – Gamba Osaka won the J1 Title and also winning the Nabisco Cup, Gamba look to get a hat-trick of trophies by winning the Emperors Cup but its going to be a tough game against Yamagata, Yamagata finished 6th in J2 but won against Iwata (W 2-1) and Chiba (W 1-0) in the J2 play off’s and were promoted to J1, so as well as tomorrow, both teams will play each other twice next season

jleague
Division 2
Sunday, 23rd November

Avispa Fukuoka 1-3 Roasso Kumamoto
Kamatamare Sanuki 0-1 JEF United Chiba
Thespa Kusatsu Gunma 3-2 Ehime FC
Kyoto Sanga 0-0 FC Gifu
Montedio Yamagata 1-2 Tokyo Verdy

Tochigi SC 1-0 V-Varen Nagasaki
Kataller Toyama 0-3 Fagiano Okayama
Matsumoto Yamaga 3-0 Mito Hollyhock
Yokohama FC 1-0 Giravanz Kitakyushu

Looking at the MD42 (and last MD) Results – 1st place Shonan Bellmare finished the season on 101 points after beating Oita Trinita, who didnt make the play-off’s, Oita lost out on the play-off’s by a point, so to the play off spots, Chiba finished in 3rd place with a 1-0 win over Kamatamare Sanuki, Chiba fans & players had a scare when Morimoto was unconscious after a incident with a Sanuki player and there was some delay when Morimoto got treatment and put into a ambulance – he was taken to hospital but it seemed it wasnt serious at all thank god, but that spurred the Chiba players on and Chiba scored before half time with a goal from Kempes, but they got the result they needed and they have a bye into the Play-Off Final due to Kitakyushu unable to play in the play-off’s but what a season Kitakyushu had in 2014, finishing 5th in the table and also having a 0 GD but finished off the season with a defeat to Yokohama FC, onto the other teams in the play off’s, 4th place was Jubilo Iwata drew 1-1 against Sapporo, 6th place Montedio Yamagata went down 2-1 to Tokyo Verdy – which even surprised me as a Verdy fan getting that result, but Montedio Yamagata finished off in the play off places

In the play off’s for promotion, Jubilo Iwata v Montedio Yamagata, will be on the Sun, 30th November, play off Final date TBC

In the play off’s for relegation, Kamatamare Sanuki will face Nagano Parceiro in a 2 legged play off to see if Sanuki stay in J2 or Nagano will be promoted to J2 with Champions of J3 Zweigen Kanazawa, the dates for the play-off’s are – Sun, 30th November & the 2nd leg on the Sun, 7th December
